There will be a short quiz on each of the chapters. Each quiz is worth 20 points. There are three exams each worth 99 points.. The chapter quizzes will be taken on your own computer using a testing program that gives you immediate feedback on the quiz. There are set dates for the completion of the chapter quizzes. For these dates, see your ChemWeb gradebook account (see "input work"). Prepare for these quizzes by studying the chapter, completing the chapter exercises, and completing the Tutor assignment for that chapter. The Tutor is discussed under Assignments. The quizzes are "open-book" but you should prepare for them as though they were not. That strategy will help you prepare and do well on the exams, which will seem much harder because they are not open book. Prepare for the exams by reviewing the Tutor assignments, the chapter quizzes, and the practice exercises. Chapter quizzes may be taken on your computer as you complete each chapter. The exams must be taken at a testing center or approved proctor facility:
The locations available for taking the online Chemistry exams are pre-approved proctor facilities. You will need a photo ID and must start the exam at least one hour before closing. The exams will be taken in the presence of a proctor or authorized testing center. If there proctor is not approved, the student is notified. Each student must complete the proctor form so we can ensure the exam information is delivered to the place where the exam will be taken. To authorize a proctor, complete and return the proctor approval form at: http://www.usd.edu/continuing-and-distance-education/fall-2010-online-courses.cfm You will be able to take the following into the exam:
In terms of policy; Continuing Ed requires all students in RC to go to the Higher Education Center to proctor exams and SF students are required to go to the University Center, etc… This process protects the overall integrity of testing services. Please try to align your test time and deadlines with the open hours of the centers listed below. Since hours of operation may change without notice, students can access the available hours on the CE website at: http://www.usd.edu/continuing-and-distance-education/testing-services.cfm
